For the last several years, I have participated in several events hosted by Southern Eye Bank and the Legacy Donor Foundation, including the GIft of Sight Celebration at the Audubon Zoo. Hundreds of families who donated their loved ones tissue and/or organs assemble to honor their loved ones. I have painted faces, served beverages at Flag Raising ceremonies at local hospitals to honor organ donors, and I have also distributed literature at community health fairs.

Recently, I attended snowboarding school and accomplished level 6 of 6 skills. I am very proud of this.

In December 2016, the Military Order of the Purple Heart invited me to participate in Wreaths Across America. My volunteer responsibilities were to help assemble hundreds of Remembrance Wreaths and place them on the graves of fallen Veterans.

I was an amazing experience to assist the Louisiana Patriot Guard Riders in honoring fallen Patriots at the Veterans Cemetery.

In December 2015, I was privileged enough to be the Wreath Holder for the Wreaths Across America Remembrance Ceremony in conjunction with the Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders.

Memorial weekend I was invited to distribute loaner life vests at various marinas by a grant from the Coast Guard.

In October of 2016, I volunteered my time providing vision screenings at our local VA hospital. This event was rewarding not only because it celebrated the grand opening of the hospital after 11 years of it being closed (due to Hurricane Katrina) but also because it was held for homeless veterans and civilians.
